The active-shooter situation has been detained as the female shooter is now currently in custody. Officers and FBI agents will now be conducting interviews throughout the area to gather more information on the damages caused by the situation.
“Due to the detaining of the offender, we have lifted the roadblocks,” said the FBI in an official statement.
The perpetrator is perceived to be alone in her offenses; however, a helicopter flew around the area for a while after just to make sure that there were no people harmed or people working with her.
An armed situation in the Whiterocks area has been reported to the FBI, BIA, and the Ute Tribe Fish and Wildlife, who are currently actively searching for a female who possesses a firearm and has taken shots.
“Avoid the area until further notice,” said the BIA, “if you are in Whiterocks, we recommend you to leave as soon as possible and/or to take shelter in place.”
There have been precautionary measures put in place to work with the local schools and buses to keep children out of the area. The roads in the area will also be closed until further notice.
