A contract for the Uintah School District to purchase the BHI building located in Naples, was signed on Friday, May 15, 2020. The building will be used by the District for their main office, for the Transportation Department and other department offices.
“While considering several options to address the facility needs of the district, the Uintah School District Board of Education decided on an option that will save the taxpayers of Uintah County millions of dollars,” Uintah Schools Superintendent Woodford said. “The BHI building is well-suited for the needs of our District Office, Technology and Transportation departments.”
After several years of discussion and consideration of the need for new facilities, Superintendent Rick Woodford, School Board President Kurt Case, the District Business Administrator Jason Johnson, with the unanimous support of the School Board, signed the contract to purchase the building.
“I would like to thank Erik Haslem and the BHI staff for their willingness to work with the Uintah School District on this transaction,” Woodford added. “This is a well-built facility that will serve our district well for many years to come.”
For up to nine months, BHI will continue to occupy the building, after which, the district will take possession. Additional details of the transaction will be released to the public once the purchase is final.
