Roosevelt City released the findings of an internal review of the city police department, following Union High School sexting scandal

ROOSEVELT—Roosevelt City has shared publicly a 35-page draft of Sheriff Jim Winder’s findings, following his internal review of the Roosevelt City Police Department.

The review was initiated by city officials following the public outcry that erupted over the department’s handling of their investigation into the sexting scandal at Union High school.

“We have a culture of progress, not perfection,” said City Manager Ryan Snow. “We’re committed to making continual progress and we actively seek out opportunities to improve. We ask that you read and understand this release of information as we share truth and show that we learn from our mistakes. We thank you for the opportunity to serve you.”

The city says that it is fully committed to complete transparency regarding all issues moving forward. A draft of the report, which includes Winder’s findings and recommendations, can be found on the city’s website: https://www.rooseveltcity.com/284/City-Policy-Improvements-2019.
