TriCounty Health Department and local Emergency Managers have just announced that PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) is available to qualified small businesses in Utah. In order to qualify for this equipment, businesses must have less than 50 employees.
“Businesses, no matter their size, can significantly influence their community’s readiness, awareness, resources, and engagement against the spread of COVID-19.” said the official Utah government website, coronavirus.utah.gov, “This begins with organizational preparedness, including risk management teams and contingency plans.”
The equipment, which may include masks, sanitizer, and gloves, depending on the type of business, is being given out as a response to the order that Gov. Herbert gave on May 1 lowering the risk level from Red to Orange and allowing businesses to open back up to the general public while continuing to slow the spread.
“I am grateful to all Utahns who take these public health recommendations seriously,” Gov. Herbert said. “We still need to be extremely cautious in the moderate-risk phase, and much of that caution will carry into the low-risk phase as well. Following these guidelines is crucial to ensuring the safety and health of all Utahns.”
To apply for, buy or donate PPE, businesses must visit coronavirus.utah.gov under “Utah PPE Resources” through the “Business Resources” page.
