Roosevelt City is working with the state government in order to provide local businesses with up to $1,000 in funding to help relieve the effects of COVID-19. The application for the grant can be found at www.rooseveltcity.com/COVIDgrant for businesses that have a current Roosevelt City business license.

The application must be completed before June 30, 2020, and must be returned to Roosevelt City with the following requirements met: a completed application, a copy of the business’ current Roosevelt City business license, a Statement of Hardship in the form of a letter written on company letterhead including an explanation of how COVID-19 has affected the company, an estimate of the lost revenue, a requested amount of money of up to $1,000, and as proof of hardship, a bill or bills of up to or exceeding the requested amount.

“If the grant is awarded, businesses may use the money to pay any regular monthly expenses such as utilities, rent, payroll, etc.” said Roosevelt City, “It is important to understand that grants will be awarded on a first come first serve basis, and at the discretion of the city.”

The grants will be given out until the funds are depleted or until the deadline of June 30, arrives. Businesses should also understand that these are not loans and do not have to be repaid.
