CEPP Assault

VERNAL—An 18 year old Uintah School District student assaulted a school aide, who worked with the student in the District’s Community Employment and Placement Program (CEPP).

The assault occurred November 19th, and was immediately reported to the Vernal City Police, who then took the student into custody.

The school aide who was attacked was taken to Ashley Regional Medical Center for treatment and has since been released.

CEPP is based out of an office near Uintah Middle School. The program provides work-based training for students with disabilities who are 18 to 22 years old. CEPP is also commonly referred to as the ‘Can Do Crew.’

Uintah school district is cooperating with Vernal City police as they investigate this incident.
