All around the country, events have been postponed due to the current circumstances the world faces. Likewise, STRATA Networks has announced that several of their community events will be postponed or canceled. In a virtual meeting held by the STRATA Board of Directors on March 26, 2020, it was determined to be in the best interest of the members and employees to postpone the Annual Meeting until it is safe for the members to meet.
“The health and safety of our community, employees, and our members is paramount.” said Kent Peatross, the board chairman for STRATA, “We hope that things will be better in June but knowing that our election process is set to begin in April, we felt it necessary to postpone the June meeting so that the election process can move forward unencumbered and operationally sound. We are monitoring the coronavirus situation closely and we will announce a new Annual Meeting date as soon as it is prudent.”
This postponement will also affect the election process for directors from the Duchesne, Flattop, Fruitland, and Lapoint districts. The membership will be notified of the new timeframes by the cooperative, once the new date for the Annual Meeting has been established.
STRATA’s Annual Charity Golf Classic events that were originally scheduled for May, have been moved to Aug. 14 for Roosevelt and Aug. 28 for Vernal.
Student opportunities that Strata sponsors each year including the Foundation for Rural Service tour in Washington D.C. and the URECA Leadership Challenge at Snow College, have been canceled due to coronavirus significantly affecting large events and gatherings.
“We look forward to the time we can once again unite with our community through annual events and gatherings to celebrate the resilience of the people here in the Uintah Basin.” said the CEO/General Manager, Bruce H. Todd, “Until that time, we will continue to do our part to keep you connected to your friends and family,”
